Q: what are the symptoms of prostrate cancer? My husband has been having terrible pain when he ejaculate and on?
he also gets up 2 or 3 times a night to pee

A: go to the drs and get the psa blood test for prostate
cancer.that should be done with your yearly exam, thats
what i was told by my dr. GOOD LUCK.

Q: what is prostrate cancer, what are the symptoms, what is the cure and how can it be prevented?

A: Prostate cancer is a tumor of the prostate gland, part of the male reproductive system. The prostate cancer secretes part of semen that helps sperm survive. Women do not have prostates.

Prostate cancer usually grows very slowly compared to other cancers and takes a long time to learn to live outside the prostate. Many men (we know through autopsy studies) live out their lives and die from other causes, never even knowing they had prostate cancer. But others will be affected by prostate cancer, and need to be treated. That’s the conundrum in the science today–trying to figure out who needs to be treated and who can be left alone.

Prostate cancer CAN be cured, and IS cured all the time. It is one of the most curable when caught early. There is nearly a 100% cure rates when the cancer is contained within the prostate itself.

Early on, there are no symptoms. When symptoms manifest themselves (urinary trouble, pain) the cancer is usually advanced and incurable. Also, benign conditions can cause urinary symptoms. This is why it’s important to have a regular PSA and digital rectal exam starting at age 40.

Prostate cancer is caused by genetic factors in at least some cases. It may not be possible to completely prevent all cases of prostate cancer, but a healthy diet (low in red meat, high in fruits and vegetables) as well as other healthy lifestyle habits may reduce the risk.

Q: what are the symptoms of prostrate cancer in dogs?
I have an eight year old golden labrador over the last couple of days he has been having difficulty it seems to pass urine.Over the last few months he has lost weight and seems to be slowing down.He is also wanting out through the night for a wee and is no longer lifting his leg.i have also just noticed while he is sleeping urine trickling form him.
I am taking him to vet first thing tomorrow.
But i have look up some web sites and the symptoms seem to suggest prostrate cancer .
I would be grateful for advice or experiences
i am so worried
Dog at vets now they are keeping him in to do X-ray and blood test.Vet said there is a swelling it could be his bladder caused by infection or stones will get results at lunch time
Dog now back home he is diabetic and as it effects emune system he has a number of infection. On insulin and antibiotics .Keep fingers crossed he is ok

A: As a vet once told me, looking at the Internet for a diagnosis is a dangerous road to go down – it will only alarm you unnecessarily. What’s going on could be prostate problems, but it doesn’t need to be cancer necessarily (the weight loss is worrying I have to say) – could just be a prostate flare up. He might also have a urinary infection, or, given his difficulty in passing urine, bladder stones. Have you noticed blood in his pee – is it darker, stronger smelling than usual, does he have a good flow when he does go, or just dribbles? All signs of bladder stones.

Take a sample of his pee in with you to the vet (this will avoid the need to catheterise him = potential infection).

Wait for the morning …… and leave the Internet alone!!! I know it’s dire not knowing, but there’s nothing you can do, until you know what’s going on. Think of the best diagnosis, and wait on the morning.

Hope he’ll be fine.

ps I have had cases of prostate problems in my hounds and rather than difficulty in passing urine, they have moaned and groaned when producing a stool. My diagnosis, online (hah) would be bladder stones.

Q: early symptoms of prostrate cancer?
can anybody tell me any signs of prostrate cancer,
i am male 54 years old

A: Men with early prostate cancer are unlikely to have any symptoms, as these only occur when the cancer is large enough to put pressure on the urethra. The symptoms of both benign enlargement of the prostate gland and malignant tumours (cancer) are similar and can include any of the following:

difficulty in passing urine

passing urine more frequently than usual, especially at night

pain when passing urine

blood in the urine (this is not common).

If you have any of the above symptoms it is important that you have them checked by your doctor. But remember, most enlargements of the prostate are not cancer.

Cancer of the prostate is often a slow-growing cancer and symptoms may not occur for many years.

Q: what are the symptoms of prostrate cancer?

A: Several things will tell you if you have prostate cancer. A DRE will give some indication and then a PSA blood test will show the increase in psa, The rate of increase is more important than the actual number. The final and best indication is an ultrasound with biopsy. Then the cells can be rated via a Gleason Score.

Most men will get prostate cancer Pca but most will also not die from it.

One of many websites is listed here but there is more information available from many sites.

I know this because I had prostate cancer at 54 and plan to survive into my 90s. Mine is gone due to early detection and smart men will have the same results.

Q: most common know symptoms of prostrate cancer?

A: Do you mean “Prostate cancer”?
Early prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms. Often it is diagnosed during the workup for an elevated PSA noticed during a routine checkup. Sometimes, however, prostate cancer does cause symptoms, often similar to those of diseases such as benign prostatic hypertrophy. These include frequent urination, increased urination at night, difficulty starting and maintaining a steady stream of urine, blood in the urine, and painful urination. Prostate cancer may also cause problems with sexual function, such as difficulty achieving erection or painful ejaculation.
Advanced prostate cancer may cause additional symptoms as the disease spreads to other parts of the body. The most common symptom is bone pain, often in the vertebrae (bones of the spine), pelvis or ribs, from cancer which has spread to these bones. Prostate cancer in the spine can also compress the spinal cord, causing leg weakness and urinary and fecal incontinence.

Q: What are the initial symptoms of prostrate cancer?

A: inlarged . as well a doctor does a simple blood test to see if it is caniourious if so it can be removed by surgery. and the simptoms are swelling. extra water . pain in the lower exteremities . visit this sire as i have typed it to learn more on it . www. webmd. com . my opion?

Q: Prostrate Cancer?
Is it possible for teen men to have Prostrate cancer?
If so. what is the likeliness?

I don’t have any symptoms it seems. but a little lower back pain. but that could be just cause i hunch over a lot

A: It’s pretty unlikely you have prostate cancer. If you’re concerned a simple test called a PSA can be performed by your doctor. If you are normal, the reading will be from zero to 4.0. Any reading of 4.0 or higher would be something to be concerned about and further testing would be indicated to see if you actually have prostate cancer.

Q: Prostrate problem?
I went to the doctors three weeks ago with a urinating problem. I felt the urge to go every 45mins to an hour, the doctor gave me some pills incase it was a track-infection (Didn’t work) and also sent me to have a bloodtest and a urine test done to be sent to the lab.

Last week I got the blood and urine test results back and both said I was fine, yet I still have the same urges to go to urinate every hour. It’s becoming a major problem, been looking around the net and alot of my symptoms seem to be related to Prostrate Cancer, though I find this strange as I am only 21 years of age.

Do you think this is just a passive problem am having and should be worried and just be glad my results came back clear? Or is it worth going back and asking for a PSA blood test dispite the fact of already having a bloodtest that came back clear?

Any help would be great.

A: I pee about every hour or so but I drink about a gallon or so of water a day. So maybe if you are drinking a lot of water? I don’t know.

Q: lump in the scrotum..where meets penis. only 13 years old. no pain or symptoms, what could it be?
noticed the same lump about a year ago and it just dissappeared. now its back. grandfather had prostrate cancer. it isnt painfull or discolored..

A: Probably a Hernia. Go to the doctor and they will take care of it. It is common but needs to be fixed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inguinal_hernia

Q: When do I tell my dad that it’s time to let his terminal Dog go?
Cancer in the prostrate, spreading. Dog still plays with my dogs but starting to slow and show other symptoms. When is the right time?

FYI: neutered dog, well fed well looked after just a freak occurance.
Dog is only 8 years old

A: I’m really sorry about your dad’s dog. It is not easy knowing that your dog is dying and you can’t do anything to help them. When the dog is in pain, it is not fair to keep him alive because he doesn’t understand why he is in pain the way a human would. If the dog is still comfortable living, then he should be ok. Also, when the dog no longer has a will to live or fight the cancer, you need to let him go. Your dad will know when it is time to let him go. If he stops eating even the best treats, and if he starts hiding in dark corners (I know that sounds strange, but it happens), he is probably ready to go.

Just make sure that when he is put down, your dad knows he has made the right decision, otherwise he will regret it.

Q: bleeding & burning feeling while urinating?
a small drop of blood is seen soon after i finished urinating.its like tis for the last 6-7 months.i consulted 2 docs. after 5-6 blood checks 1 doc(gen med) told amt of urea in urine is a little bit high.so he gav som mediceines for 10 days.since that did nt stop i consult anoher urologist. he prescribed to check urine flow, healing time if a wound occurs, and another one which checked wheter there is any bleeding in urinary tract and a no of blood checks. but even that could not be find out.(urologist told everything ie the results are normal.) .earlier ie,till one month befor its bleeds only when go to toilet in the morning only.that too sometimes 1 drop or 2.and sometimes in solid form.but now atleast 4-5 drops.and now not only in morning time.i havent had any sexual intercourse.but i used to masterbate atleast once in a day. now i hav controlled masterbating for once in week .but i noticed that when i masterbating i feel bleeding is more.i dont know whether i feel so because of my fear,i havnt consulted doc for the last 1 month.

Good health man

Q: Eat a lot of tomatoes ………………..?
I eat a lot of tomatoes ….. in salads, with curries, in all my sandwiches ……. thinking that they were good for me ( hear they are a good preventative for prostrate cancer and the like ). But I have recently been told that they can be very acidic and cause increased symptoms in people with arthritic tendencies ( like myself ). Anyone able to give advice on this one?

A: I love tomato’s. They are awesome full of vitamin c and other good stuff. If the acid burns my lips where i have a crack in them. I just think I Have a great tomato. I grow my own. The gassed ones in the supermarket have no flavor. Best snack in the whole world. Better than anything man made. My opinion lol. Eat your tomato’s with a clear head. They will help you not hurt you. Best to you.

Q: What will the lack of Vitamin D cause?
Studies in Research show that the true definition of leukemia : ” is a disease in which uncontrollably dividing blood cells invade the bone marrow and circulating blood. “The cause is a defect in control of the cell cycle, which allows the cell to go on dividing unchecked. The precipitating factors for this loss of control of the cell cycle are many when the blood cells mutate into cancer cells. Blood cancer is called leukemia.”
I understand that leukemia is a disease that develops around the bone. Studies also show that Leukemia can cause two other major diseases : Prostrate cancer and Breast Cancer in Women. My main question is, Will the lack of Vitamin D actually cause leukemia ? If so, then why? Is this mostly rare? What are the measures that can be done to prevent this? Will Leukemia lead to other types of cancers besides Prostrate and Breast? Other questions that I have in mind are
“What can be done to help prevent Breast Cancer in Women?”
“What are the first symptoms of Leukemia? Would feeling too weak in the blood and bone lead to the disease like Leukemia, or is it just one of the effects?
This topic has always wondered me. Please answer this question to the best of your ability. It would really help if I found the answers to these questions as soon as possible. Thank you

A: Check out Vitamin D Council – they publish all the info you need.
