Q: Sudafed use by men with an enlarged prostate?
The standard warnings say that men with an enlarged prostate should use “caution” in taking Sudafed. But the warnings don’t say why or list what the prostate-related side effects are. Is BPH a potentially a side effect of Sudafed, and/or does Sudafed make BPH worse? Or is it a drug interaction with the BPH treatment?

A: I would think this is a question for your doctor or pharmacist. Sorry!

Q: enlarged prostate?
has anyone out there had a T.U.R.P or green light laser if so what was the result was it successful would you recommend it .(if you need to ask what it is don`t bother to answer as its a serious question)

A: sorry I have not, but would like to see the answers.

Q: Is an enlarged prostate from drinking too many fluids?
I drink pop and coffee all day, and maybe a beer or 2 at night everyday. I urinate like 10 times a day. Is an enlarged prostate part of this ordeal

A: How old are you? Most young people won’t have this symptom, but you said you urinate 10 times a day? That is extremely abnormal If you say you drink all this sugar and piss a lot. It could be a sign of a larger problem (possibly diabetes). Watch for other signs such as excessive thirst (for water), extreme tiredness, and fruity-smelling breath.

Q: are there any over the counter drugs for enlarged prostate?
I have had a history of this.I have an appointment with a urologist in 4 weeks, he can not see me sooner.I have bladder pain.I drive for a living, can sitting most of the time
cause enlarged prostate or other bladder problems?

An enlarged prostate is not cause by excessinve sitting

Q: Besides Cancer, What Are The Causes of an Enlarged Prostate?
Hello Everyone,

If your doctor has determined that you do NOT have prostate cancer, but have a large prostate, what causes this to happen in the first place? I am aware that frequent urination is a main sign of an enlarged prostate, but what causes the prostate to grow in the first place?

Jeff

A: These links will give you enough info.

Q: A cure for the urinary symptoms of enlarged prostate?
I just had an idea. When men get older, their prostate enlarges making urination difficult. Wouldn’t a simple solution to this problem be to bypass the flow of urine to the prostate. Surgically connect the bladder to the penis without it having to pass through the prostate.

A: Urine doesnt pass through the prostate. The Prostate gland produces semen. The Prostate gland swells and puts pressure on the bladder. They are two different bags.

Q: Does an enlarged prostate necessarily indicate prostate cancer?
The doctors told my grandpa that he has an enlarged prostate. But my grandpa does not want them poking around, so I’m not sure what he has. What does an enlarged prostate indicate? Does it always indicate prostate cancer? Thank you! :)

A: No, in most cases the enlargement is benign. It’s quite common for the prostrate gland to enlarge in older guys. By the age of 70, approx 70-80% of men have an enlarged prostate gland. If it’s benign it’s called benign prostatic hyperplasia. Also, having BPH does not increase or decrease the risk of prostate cancer contrary to popular belief.

BHP is usually diagnosed by symptoms alone. Sometimes more tests are needed to rule out other causes and the risk of it being cancerous. His Doctor will need to examine the prostrate properly to assess how big it is, -they probably already did this. Referrals and other tests are usually only done if the gland is particularly enlarged or your grandpa is symptomatic. In some cases a prostate specific antigen blood test may be done but in the UK this isn’t routine. A high PSA level is found in people with prostate cancer, but most men with prostrate symptoms to do not have cancer. – I must stress this. A PCA3 test may also be offered. This is a urine test which detecting cancer of the prostate and is probably more accurate than the PSA.

Unless your grandpa is having symptoms he may not need treatment or further tests. An enlarged prostrate is often asymptomatic.

Q: can having an enlarged prostate affect you from having kids?
My fiance has an enlarged prostate and he is worried that it is affecting us from getting pregnant.

A: If he can ejaculate normally, there should be no problem.
Usually an enlarged prostate will reduce the flow of fluids through it and that includes urine as well as semen and sperm. A reduced urine flow is one of the first symptoms.
The prostate gland produces about 30% of the volume of semen and the seminal vesicles make up most of the rest. 5% is provided by the testicles. An enlarged prostate does not necessarily result in a non-working prostate.
To reiterate, if he is still ejaculating when he has his orgasm, there is no reason why his fertility should be compromised. Prostate problems alone do not affect sperm production.
A fertility test is the only sure way to determine whether the semen is missing any important prostate-related components that may jeopardize the longevity of the sperm it is meant to nurture..

Q: whats the treatment, cure & medication for enlarged prostate ? Is there any chance of getting enlarge prostate?
whats the treatment, cure & medication for enlarged prostate & Prostatitis ?

Is there any chance of getting enlarge prostate in early age like 20 or 24 years ?

Does enlarge prostate require any surgery ?

thanks
i have a problem with that

A: Some of the easier answers to help with an enlarged prostate can be as simple as eating better such as reducing red meat consumption and fatty foods.

Often, men in their 20’s are having prostate problems due to the large amount of time spent sitting(office jobs, etc). This causes constant pressure on the prostate and reduces blood flow to this area.

Natural supplements can be beneficial for prostate problems. Pumpkin seeds, zinc, nettle and saw palmetto can be helpful in reducing the inflammation from an enlarged prostate.

Prostatitis is often a reoccurring prostate infection which can also be sometimes helped with the above recommendations. Best bet is to check with your doctor and get an accurate idea of what is happening.

Q: Unable to cum do to a temporary enlarged prostate?
i am being treated for a urine infection that may have settled in my prostate. I haven’t been able to pee. The dr. told me that my prostate is enlarged because of the infection preventing me from releaveing myself.Yesterday morning the dr. put me on flowmax that really helped the problem. BUT, heres my question, this morning I had sex, I had an orgasm but did not cum, why? So then this afternoon, I masterbated, and still no cum, whats the deal?

A: a common solution is to stick a dildo/cucumber/banana in your butt and do the chicken dance as it slowly eases the swelling by direct contact with the prostate

Q: Enlarged prostate – My uncle of 91 years has an enlarged prostate and had a supra pubic catheter inserted?
The supra pubic catheter was inserted last March. He has been in pain every day since and the Doctors don’t seem to be able to do anything for him. He has been to pain clinics and likewise nothing positive has come from it. It is very frustrating to see somebody old in severe pain everyday and not be able to do anything to alleviate it. All we can do is give him pain killers which are useless. I would be very grateful for some information on the cause of this problem and how it can be sorted out. The urologist at the hospital will not do a prostate operation because of his age and health. By the way he does not have cancer of the prostate. Thanks for your help.

A: From what and you`ve mentioned, and painkillers are not working, then i can only suggest one thing since surgery is not a good idea at 91, that he check his DIET. By 91, you can only imagine the amount of toxins in his system, not necessarily from ingesting toxic substances on purpose, I`m referring to the huge amount of preservatives and crap they put in almost everything these days.. 91 years of that is bound to screw you up somewhere. The toxins just chose his prostate to set up shop. Have him talk to a nutritionist, with the goal being to be cleaner inside than he is out, and to maintain that diet religiously.
It`s nearly impossible for this method to NOT work, if it`s done absolutely flawlessly. (no sneaking snacks)
And as much water as you can pump into him, it may be uncomfortable because of the catheter, but it`s the best method to clean the body.
Good luck, and give him my best wishes.
