Q: massage…?
I got a massage this morning, and the therapist pulled the sheet all the way off of me. I didnt say anything because I wasnt uncomfortable. I just thought it was strange; what do you think?
A: Laws are different in each country or state so wether this was legal depends on your location. In any case, if you were covered by a sheet in the beginning, it should never have been removed without your permission first.
Q: Massage…?
Massage… it is one way to stay relaxed. Even it became a way to joy your partner beside that its used for treatment.

Q: When using a massage table, what is the most comfortable way to position a slender woman with large breasts?
I enjoy giving my wife a massage using a portable massage table. She is slender and recently had breast implants. Now, it is uncomfortable for her to lie flat on the massage table. Any suggestions for positioning, use of pillows, etc, to make it more comfortable for her to lie flat for the massage?
A: Put a pillow or two under her anterior hips/stomach. This will allow the back to “flatten” out without such an accentuated lordotic curve in the low back that is now being created by the implants. Putting a pillow under her breasts will make the situation more uncomfortable.
Q: What is the style of massage called when the person walks on your back?
I want to learn more about the style of massage where the person giving the massage walks on the person receiving the massage’s back. I was told it was Thai massage but I don’t know what to call it to find out more! I am interested in learning how to do this but I don’t want to break someone’s back trying!
A: Ashiatsu certification is a 3-part process. Cost is $550 to learn the basics and is available to massage therapists only.
I should add that there are other barefoot Swedish therapies. Receiving a Thai massage is similar to doing yoga, except the therapist is manipulating your body into stretches and positions!
Q: What is the difference between a powder massage and a relax massage in Budapest baths?
I am traveling to Budapest and would like to visit one of the famous thermal baths there. Looking at their prices for services, I see that there are two types of massages offered: powder massage and relax massage. What is the difference between the two? Which one is a more intense, deep tissue massage?
A: I think you’ve seen the site www.spasbudapest.com. there is no real answer there and in the hungarian sites for your problem but the simpliest method to settle this send an email to the info@budapestgyogyfurdoi.hu.
the email button can be found in the bottom right of the site I mentioned above.
you are welcome there.
Q: What type of massage is best for shoulder and back tension?
I’ve never gotten a professional massage before, and I’m trying to figure out what kind would be best for my situation. I’m a musician with bad neck, shoulder, and back tension. Would a deep tissue massage be too intense for a first-timer? What is a reasonable price for a 45-60 min massage?
A: For getting a massage for the first time deep tissue will leave you sore. The soreness comes from the lactic acid that is accumulated from contracted muscles not getting enough oxygen which in turn causes knots or adhesions. When you are tense all the time we take shorter breaths and you’re body stays positioned in one place for too long.
Get a therapeutic or customized massage meaning they adjust the pressure to you’re muscle tonality and you should not feel uncomfortable. A resonable price for a 1 hour massage is $55- $75. I would suggest getting a 30 minute on you’re upper body ( neck, back, shoulders, arms, hands, pec’s and scalp) This is around $25-$45. See you’re therapist at least every other week or once a month. Massage should be therapeutic and relaxing…even deep tissue is not supposto hurt it defeats the purpose. If you are in pain during a massage you’re body feels that it is under attack and you start to tense up and you’re money goes to waste no theraputic release has happened, just added stress.
After you’re massage physically you will feel very fluid like you have full mobility of you’re muscles and you will feel very light. You might feel some soreness but it should be tolerable…just drink lots of water and make sure you are taking some kind of calcium suppliment to absorb the lactic acid.
Also make sure you’re therapist has a pleasent demenor about them that they respect you’re body and pain tolerance and speak up if you have and uncomfortableness. and most importantly allow you’re self to trust and release =)
Q: How can I become a massage therapist for the military?
So I’ve always wanted to be a massage therapist, I’m 18 I have no clue where to start. Do I attend a Massage Therapy school? I was planning to attend Nevada school of massage therapy. Please help! Oh and if you know the cost for Nevada school of massage therapy. It would really help if i can speak to anyone who has graduated from there.
A: There is no massage therapy position in the military – any massage needs are part of physical therapy
Q: How do I know that a massage therapist is qualified to massage my achillis tendons and groins?
How do I determine a massage therapist’s legitimacy? I have achilles tendinitis and a groin pull. I have want to run again and massage therapy might heal my injuries. I want both parts of my two legs massaged and I do not wanted to be ripped off.
A: Requirements are different in different states/countries, but where I live, a massage therapist must have his/her license on display in the place where he/she practices, and anyone can request information on any therapist or any other healthcare professional from the state.
With injuries, your best bet is to either find a chiropractor with a massage therapist (many have them these days) or get a referral to physical therapy. The therapists working for chiros and PTs would be the most experienced in this line of work.
Q: Where do I go for massage demonstrations in the internet?
I want to give my husband a good massage every time he comes home tired from work. Can’t afford a masseuse and i’mtoo busy to attend massage classes. Are there websites that has free demonstrations on how to give a good massage?
A: Try videojug for lots of videos – they have several on different types of massage.
Make sure hubby reciprocates!
Q: How can I massage a knot out of my husbands back shoulder?
My husband has a cronic knot, or what feels like a tense ball in his back, left shoulder muscle. I have been trying to work it out with massage. It has been getting smaller but I can’t seem to totally work it out. Any suggestions? Also, the ball of tension seems to move around a little as I massage. Thanks!
A: Try getting a tennis ball (or other ball about that size). With your husband laying on his stomach, you can press down with the ball with considerable pressure. Let him guide you to the spot that is the most tender. Once you are on it, just press hard and make very small circular movements pretty much staying right over that spot. This is basically a trigger point release technique. You can do it as often as you like, but apply the pressure at one minute intervals with another minute or two between each pressure application.
Q: How much do massage therapists make in commission?
How much do massage therapists make in commission when working with a spa? Is 50/50 the norm? For a beginner fresh out of massage school would it be less? How much experience would you need to get a higher percentage from the spa owner?
I’d like answers specific to the city of Philadelphia but info about other cities would be great reference as well.
A: What a interesting conversation this is! I worked in Texas as a new therapist, and I worked commission only for massages and spa services, starting at 35% and going up to 55% plus tips, we charged around $75 a service. I opened my own business and I charge $60 hourly.
Apparently this is not always the norm, I knew other therapists who worked at Massage envy, Spa D’sante and Massage Heights who only made $12-$15 hourly + tips.
The biggest compromise is the life you want to lead. I prefer to get paid more, work less, and use my spare time to learn more about massage!
Just be confident in your abilities and ask for more than you think you will get. I always got the job after a massage demo!
GOOD LUCK!
Q: How much to tip a massage therapist when I go to her home?
My massage therapist quit the spa she used to work for, and now takes clients in her home.
I don’t mind tipping at a spa, because she probably only gets an hourly rate and most of the cost of the massage goes towards the facility’s rent/electricity/supplies, etc.
My question is: If I am going to her house for a massage, how much (if any) do I tip? She gets 100% of my fee, so is a tip necessary?
A: According to the article cited below:
Do not tip a massage therapist who works for himself and makes house calls or owns the massage center.
Have a polite day.
Q: How do you massage your self to get rid of cellulite?
I have some cellulite on my hips that i want to reduce a little. I heard that if you massage it, some of it will go away. How do you massage it though? What kind of technique?
A: Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-
PHYTOLACCA BERRY’s Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don’t get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don’t get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girth
The dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.
Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results.
To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.
Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.
Take care and God Bless !
Q: What massage oil is safe to use during labour?
Im having my first baby in a couple of weeks, and am wanting to buy a massage oil that is safe to use during the labour. It doesnt have to be scented – just something that will help – any advice would be great!
A: Mandarin oil
Lavender oil
Neroli oil
Clary Sage oil
Roman Chamomile oil
Frankincense oil
These don’t have anything properties might affect your mood or your breathing during labour, which might be dangerous for you or your baby.
Some other oils can make you very anxious which of course is very risky during labour, or they can increase your heart rate even more which can severely complicate things.
Good luck in your labour, and be safe and stick to the oils which I recommended
Q: How long after a massage should you wait to consume alcohol?
I have a massage appointment at 2:00 and a Girl’s Night Out tonight. Is there a rule as to how long after a massage you are supposed to wait before consuming alcoholic beverages?
A: Make sure that you drink tons of water before going out. Just like working out, your body did a lot of work and needs to be re-hydrated. If it isn’t, you will get drunk (and hungover) a lot faster than you normally do. I have clients who didn’t listen to this advice and regret it in the morning.
