Q: Hi does anyone know the first signs of prostate cancer?
I KNOW SOME ONE CLOSE TO ME WHO SAYS HE HAS A BALL LIKE GROWTH DIRECTLY UNDER HIS TESTICLES BUT HE’S SCARED TO GO TO THE HOSPITIAL FOR FEAR OF THE WORST. I ASKED HIM IF HE THINKS IT’S SOMETHING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED AN HE SAYS HE’S POSITIVE IT’S NOTHING SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED. IF ANYONE KNOWS THE FIRST SIGNS OF PROSTATE CANCER OR THE SYMPTOMS PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

A: Definately needs to go for a PSA test and then possibly a biopsy. Someone very dear to me was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer on both sides and he had no symptoms at all. They had been watching his PSA’s for about a year and decided to do a biopsy. He still has no symptoms but opted for surgery because it is a silent killer.

A: Nobody on here can recommend to you the safest treatement. You need to speak to the physician who diagnosed you with cancer.

There are many treatments for prostate cancer including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

A: Your son needs to go to a urologist; a general practice/family practice doc isn’t really equipped for this.

This is very embarresing to post but i am getting a little worried. i know that prostate cancer makes u urinate more and sometimes painfully, but i have not experianced any of these symptoms. You need to have the prostate checked for enlargement, a psa level done, ua. stool for occult blood. They have came a long way with this type of cancer. A: prostate cancer is usually detected through digital rectal exam, and is rarely detected through testicular exam.

some signs and symptoms of prostate cancer/ benign prostatic hyperplasia:
decrease in the force of the urine stream
dribbling of urine
difficulty in initiating urination

Testicular exam, on the other hand, is used for determining testicular CA, as evidenced by lumps. Don’t be alarmed.
Monitor the size of the bump frequently…if it gets bigger or doesnt disappear, then i suggest you go see you doctor for a check-up.
